WIND CHIMES

Vladivostok, 2020
Knowledge of the surrounding world is formed by man’s sensual experience. Through sight and hearing, we get different sets of senses, one through the eyes and the other through the ears. Based on these feelings, we make decisions about the next (no)action. But in such circumstances, how does an inhuman agent behave and how does he interact with the environment? The installation illustrates an example of a distributed system, where the actor investigates the environment using digital methods and the sensory data becomes the set of sensations
PROJECT WORK
The object is placed in a box, equipped with wind music, and is moved by stepper motors, analyzing space in front of itself with the sensor of proximity. The non-human agent interacts with the environment by means of a sound sensor whose results induce it to react accordingly to the environment
COMPONENTS
Microcontroller, stepper motor, sound sensor (analysis), obstacle sensor, LED strip
SOFTWARE
ArduinoIDE — environment for programming electronic components to C++
