WIND DANCE

Vladivostok, 2020

Wind is a flow that a human couldn’t see with eyes. Yet it can be gentle, cooling us in summer, and powerful, pushing us away from the direction we head. Freezing rain was a disaster that forced Vladivostok winds to go crazy dancing. Heavy wind penetrates inside the body affecting each cell. It heats again and again as a combatant but  stays unseen. Wind Dance reveals invisible air flow, translating it to the form that we can observe in detail with eyes

PROJECT WORK

Kuka robotic hand moves its tip with a light source attached. The trajectory of the light is based on the air flow during the disaster. The light source has a form of fan for dancing with led strips going along the fan ribs

COMPONENTS

Robot Kuka, wind data for Vladivostok
